WHAT IS A GICLEE?

A process for producing fine reproductions of original paintings by using computers combined with inkjet printing technology. The printed canvas is then stretched on a gallery wrap-style stretcher bar with hanging wire attached, or it can also be framed separately in either a ready-made or custom frame, if desired.

WE ALSO OFFER PRAYER CARDS

Some paintings have been selected as prayer cards, packaged in 10, 30, or 50 per sealed package.

Notice this symbol when looking for prayer cards.

ABOUT ME

Louis' Story

I was born June 8, 1931 in Little Rock and grew up attending Catholic schools. After graduating from Catholic High, I entered The University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1953 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. This is when I learned to paint and was recognized by winning several student competitions. My four years were wrapped up with The Jacques Award for The Outstanding Thesis by The Notre Dame Art Department.

After graduation, I entered The Air Force where I attained the rank of Captain, flying the first operational jet fighters the US had. Ending my service in 1955, I started civilian life working for a packaging company. With my art painting shelved for the time being, I worked, married and raised three boys with my wife Lottie.

In 1994, I started my own St. Jude Packaging company at age 63. By this time, I had completed several hundred paintings, which had become my avocation over the years.

In 2010, my wife passed away, and I opened L & L Beck Gallery that same year at the age of 79 ā€” the second ā€œLā€ stands for my wife Lottie.

In 2020 at the age of 89, I closed The Gallery and decided to start a website to sell religious items. The Beck Gallery of Religious Icons was thus started as a place where people could share my religious icons as giclees.
